February 23, 2017
In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America, we will celebrate with the following spirit days:
February 27 Red or White Day
February 28 Hat Day
March 1st Wacky clothes (inside out, backwards, etc.)
March 2nd Silly Socks
March 3rd Green Day.
Please remember that Math Homework Help after school tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays is available for all students in 1st - 5th grades. Pickup is at 3:30 in front of the school.
Evo Bluestein will be at McKinnon to teach folk dancing from March 27-31st. The students always enjoy this special time of year.
We have seen an increase in early pickups. We understand how difficult it can be to schedule student appointments outside of the school day, but many students are being picked up early to accommodate parent or sibling appointments, work schedules, or simply to beat the traffic. If a doctor’s note is not presented at pickup we will need it the next day, otherwise these early departures will be recorded as an unexcused tardy and can lead to Truancy Referral. In the event that you do need to pick your child up early during the school day, please notify the school office or your child’s teacher in advance. Also, due to class rotation schedules, students will not be called out of class during the last 10 minutes of the day. Please remember that teachers cannot stop class to give your child his/her homework assignment when we haven’t known in advance that he/she will be leaving early. Thank you for your help with this.
